Come Sing for the Season

Village Carols from Coal Aston in Derbyshire

Listening pleasure ... inspiring and heartwarming
(English Dance and Song)

Before the Second World War, Coal Aston was a distinct settlement, set in attractive countryside a few miles south of the Sheffield boundary. Today it is indistinguishable from Dronfield. Yet its community has worked hard to preserve its identity. Nowhere is this more true than in the singing of the local carols. On Christmas Eve thecarollers, mostly members of the Methodist Church, tour the village. Sixteen carols are featured on the recording and full score is included in the book for twelve of them.

Each sale includes a donation to Coal Aston Methodist Church.
