Arise, Rejoice and Sing!
Village Carols from the Blue Ball Inn,
Worrall
Heartening evidence of a real celebration of Christmas.
(The Guardian)
The Pennine village of Worrall is famous for its carol singing and rightly
so, for the tradition represents one of the finest examples in England. Lol Loy,
who learnt the accompaniments over sixty years ago, plays the organ and leads
the singing in the informal setting of the village pub. Be warned. If all you
like is sanitised carols clinically prepared in the sterile atmosphere of a
recording studio, this tape is not for you! Each sale generates funds for a
local children's charity, the RICHARD Fund.
